Leeching off the community
I pulled this app down looking for more details on one particular hiking trail. Nice chart, until I compared it with the official map from the park. The official map just didnt have trail distances like this app did. But this map was very incomplete and even wrong in places.
The authors didnt validate or develop a method of vetting user-submitted data, yet they feel like they can charge a high, annual fee simply so that I can go off grid. This is just like the atrocity that GraceNote did with the ID3 database when they commercialized user contributions that were given freely. No value added for your money.
If I could get a discount on the yearly subscription by validating trails, I might buy that, but this is poor execution of an attempt to capitalize on the work of others.
Going in the deleted pile.
