Went down the wrong trail, this app saved us a lot of trouble

We took our two young children on a short hike around an auto-accessible summit. We had trail maps and read the signs, but headed down the wrong trail. The one we wanted was poorly marked and color coding wasnt shown on the signs or maps. After about 15 minutes on the trail something didnt feel right. We checked the trail map, and it seemed we had followed it correctly (this is when we noticed that it did not specify the color coding). I immediately remembered I had this app installed. I opened it up and clicked the "my location" button and it instantly homed in on my exact location on the wrong trail. We were able to turn back soon enough without discovering too late that we were in a bad situation with our kids. Very thankful.
