AllTrails: Hike, Bike & Run App Reviews

Great app. I first used it to find some new hiking trails near where I live. And then when I traveled to Colorado to visit Rocky Mountain national park it really came in handy to choose the best trails and give more insight as to the terrain. I now use it for every trail I hike on and would highly recommend it for hiking, biking, walking, or just enjoying the great outdoors.

Pretty great app for finding trails, but someone HAS to monitor the photos somehow. The driving directions are pretty awful as well

I love this app. It tells me everything I need to know about every trail, difficulty, length, location, Everything! Maps of the trails and directions on how to get there, and ones closest to me. What others think of the trails. Its Great

Wish they had a notation for horse use.

Have used the map function several times to make sure we were on (or get back to) the trail. Love being able to discover new tails nearby.

I liked this app till I made the mistake of updating it this time. Now Im stuck with ads constantly

Despite being a very popular area for hiking, the Hudson valley seems to have very limited locations listed in the app. While I enjoy using the app to decide where to go, and the feature to save maps is great, I dont have the data or battery life to run the app and record trails as I hike. I feel that a lot of users share this issue, so it seems like contribution to the AllTrails app is low. I also wish there were an easier way to flag things as mislabeled. There are some flat paved pedestrian paths around here marked as difficult despite practically being sidewalks, for example. Plenty of great features, especially to get to know an area, and it seems like the app is addressing some of these concerns with recent updates, but not quite there yet.

Im very near 3 state parks, the Cumberland Trail and a National park and the search function says there are no trails near me. Useless.

I really like this app, I hike a lot with my dog and its really handy to have a list of places to go right at my fingertips.

I would have rated it 5 stars until they took away the Trails Illustrated maps. I really loved this feature, Ive been using All Trails for the last 4-5 years and used it everywhere I hiked. The app is really watered down now .

This isnt the most perfect compilation of trails and information ever, but it is certainly better than 3.5 stars. Its shows nearby trails in the best way Ive seen and its collection is extensive however not exhaustive. Definitely enough material for the casual hiker. The information is crowd sourced so if you want it to be better- make it better! Because of the crowdsourcing sometimes info and routes can be confusing, but Ive always managed to figure it out, and certainly this app has helped me out when Im in a tight spot. We took our two young children on a short hike around an auto-accessible summit. We had trail maps and read the signs, but headed down the wrong trail. The one we wanted was poorly marked and color coding wasnt shown on the signs or maps. After about 15 minutes on the trail something didnt feel right. We checked the trail map, and it seemed we had followed it correctly (this is when we noticed that it did not specify the color coding). I immediately remembered I had this app installed. I opened it up and clicked the "my location" button and it instantly homed in on my exact location on the wrong trail. We were able to turn back soon enough without discovering too late that we were in a bad situation with our kids. Very thankful.

Love this app - its my go to app for picking trails due to its thorough database of maps, stats, and reviews.

I downloaded this app for the sole purpose of finding trails with Geocaches. Every time I use the filter for that option it gets 0 results. So I dont really find this app helpful.

Have to pay to download any map, so core functionality cost at least $15 Waste of time

Best hiking trail app I can find. Others seem to be choppy and loaded with ads. Works smooth, love the way it tracks my hiking progress and history.

Highly recommend. Worth the small upgrade $ if you hike even casually. Social media hike input
